Winter Car Care tip #2

Winter Car care tip: Clean or replace your wiper blades often! Durability is key. No need to buy expensive blades. If at your local auto parts store, there is wiper blade that is completely covered with rubber, these are intended for snow & Ice. Visibility is key to safe driving. And remember, wipers on? Lights on! It’s the Law. #wintercarcare

Tuesdays Travel Tip

Drinking lots of water is always a good thing. And while we may all appreciate the occasional glass of bubbly, drinking while traveling at 20, 000 + feet is not a good way to stay hydrated.
Dont be shy, please take the mini water bottles we offer in our sedans and limousines! We want you to be well hydrated for your travels.

Moms Mayhem Monday: How- to “tame” your week by preparing.

Mom (and Dad) has always said, plan ahead!  As a parent I too have learned (the hard way) that preparing for anything makes your day run more smoothly.

Packing lunches for work the night before can give you 10-15 minutes extra sleep, or time to chat with the family over breakfast, or time to get ready for work!

Enlist your families help with grocery shopping, or menu planning on the weekend. So you can keep it healthy and low stress on a Monday evening.

There are simple family organizers online that you can print for Free such as: http://www.mommytracked.com/downloads  and online like http://www.cozi.com  Let’s not forget the Free apps for (us happy geeks) on your smart phone nowadays like the iPhone’s “Grocery iQ”,where you can scan your fridge inventory  and even share your grocery list with your spouse!  That’s what I call organized!

So here’s to an an organized week, and no-mayhem Monday!

Preparing for Prom Season; Tips For NJ Parents

Prom night is one of the most anticpiated nights on the teen calendar. From the moment your son or daughter find their date, to the moment they show up at the door. Every moment needs to count towards making the nigh both safe and special.

Though you may worry about your child staying out late on prom night, hiring a chauffeured car for the most important social event of the year can transform prom night into an extraordinarily memorable, safe and enchanting evening for your teenager and, offer you,the parent the peace of mind to make it through!

The National Limousine Association  provides these five tips when you hire a transportation service for your teenager’s big night:

1. Ask the transportation company for the Prom Promise. This is a document that teens sign in agreement of not drinking or taking drugs on prom night. Many limousine and chauffeured transportation companies offer this contract as a way to give parents an outlet to discuss the importance of safety on prom with their teens.

2. Give the transportation company a curfew. That’s right; the chauffeur will abide by any rules you set forth, and will make sure to pick up and drop off your kids at a designated hour. This is a great way ensure your kids make it home on time, no excuses.

3. Check with industry associations to make sure the company you choose is reputable. Organizations such as the National Limousine Association (NLA) and the local livery association are good indications that your service provider does their due diligence. If you are still stuck, consult www.nlaride.com. The National Limousine Association’s website lists limousine professionals by community. Consumers can compare services, pricing, vehicle availability and receive non-binding online price quotes.

4. Set some ground rules. As the parent, you have the right to tell the transportation company what will and will not be tolerated in the vehicle. For example, you can ask that the chauffeur keep the privacy screen down for the entire ride, so that he/she has a full grasp of what your kids are up to. If any of your rules are broken, the chauffeur can turn the car around and bring your kids home.

5. Remember to sit back and relax. A reputable company hires drivers with proper training and licensing. Theses chauffeurs are used to carting around excited passengers all day long, so they know how to keep things under control.

Body shops and cardiologists alike agree: excess salt is no good

Here’s a great post we found on http://www.Autoanything.com  P recisely the reason we wash all our limousines and sedans everytime they come “off the road”. I’m pretty sure you dont have a car wash at your beck and call, but you can remember to apply a thick coat of wax prior to Ol’ Man Winter’s appearance. Make it a family affair, the kids will love it!

A Wilner Winter Wonderland

Hey NJ, did ya notice the snow outside? Sorry, I just had to go there…

This weekend while you were snug as a bug in a rug, my crew & myself  had the honor of plowing our parking lot so our limousines and sedans, hearses & flowercars could get out. Life goes on right?

Our facility, is built on 2 acres in Edison NJ, at 4 am Saturday morning  there was so much snow,  that if we could have dumped it in one pile the kids of the neighborhood could have had a man-made ski jump!

The photo attached to the link “facility” shows our building in the Spring.

Here’s what we looked like Saturday afternoon:

Today’s tip: When you know it’s going to snow overnight and you just cant bear the thought of scraping your windshield, here’s a simple solution.  Grab a moving blanket, or old tarp (something that will cover your windshield plus 6 inches on either end) . Open your front car doors, lay the tarp on your windshield and with the door open, drape the remaining material inside your car. Close the door so the material is inside. Now repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle. In the morning, all you’ll have to do is open your doors, pull off the material and voila! Clean windshield!

If you’d also like to have a warm & cozy car and dont trust leaving your car running without you…checkout our friends at Precision Motorsports in Metuchen. Tell them we sent you, and we’ll donate 10% of the price of  their services to the CommunityFood Bank of NJ!

Take a Limo to lunch!

How cool would it be if when lunch time rolled around and you and a few of your friends decided that you were going to go out for lunch and the was a BIG SHINY BLACK LIMOUSINE waiting for you right outside to take you and your friends to lunch wait for you and then bring you back. Hey in addition there would be no waiting at the restaurant and you would be treated like a star. Now would that be cool or what?

Well we are on a mission to pilot this program in the Edison, South Plainfield and Piscataway areas of NJ.

So if you know anyone who can authorize the program at their restaurant in the areas we had mentioned above, let me know ok? thanks!
